The Ministry of Justice in UAE now allows virtual weddings. Streaming your wedding ceremony virtually can still be a party while your family, relatives, and friends are safe at home. Because we are ready in helping you being the planning for your virtual wedding in UAE, we have compiled tips on how to ensure that your virtual wedding in Dubai is successful! Check them out.

Tip no 1: Check the local marriage regulations!

The procedures and requirements for court marriage in UAE will depend on which emirate you are in, the religion of the bride and the groom, and their nationalities. When you have sorted the paperwork required for an online marriage application with the help of marriage lawyers in UAE, submit the documents and have them approved online. Once approved, the online wedding can be scheduled with the Ministry of Justice. The online wedding ceremony will be conducted via a video link with the cleric from the Marriage Department of the Ministry.

An application for online marriage with the UAE Ministry of Justice should be attached with the other required documents, which include:

  • Certification of no impediment for marriage in UAE (original and issued by government authority)
  • Original birth certificates of both bride and groom
  • Valid passports of both bride and groom
  • Photos of the bride and groom
  • Receipt of marriage fees payment
  • Amended marriage certification with annulment annotation, if a contracting party is annulled
  • Amended marriage certificate with divorce annotation if a contracting party had a past marriage approved for dissolution
  • Attested death certificate of a deceased spouse, if a contracting party has become a widower or widow
  • Affidavit of consent (executed by parents of a contracting party that is anywhere between the age of 18 and 21)
  • Written parental advice with notarization done by a public notary for a contracting party that is anywhere between 22 to 25 years old

Tip no 2: Assemble the virtual planning team

Just because the original wedding plan has been modified into a virtual or online wedding in Dubai does not mean that it is impossible to get some help from friends or wedding planning. Try reaching out to a wedding planner of your choosing and see if the person and his or her team can help in organizing the event.

Have decorations set up! You can also have a special 3-tier wedding cake for your virtual wedding. You are allowed in having fun and to keep the traditions you want for your online wedding. All this while every one of your guests practices the safety measures imposed by the local government to limit the spread of coronavirus spread in the country.

Tip no 3: Select a video streaming platform.

You have a lot of options for your virtual wedding in Dubai, namely Google Hangout, Instagram Live, and Zoom Conferencing! Decide if what you and your future spouse want is to live stream the wedding for people to watch or if what you both want is also to see and chat with guests just as they see you during the ceremony. It will be the number one deciding factor when choosing a platform for broadcasting your wedding ceremony.

Make sure that you include the proper links to a platform, the etiquette instructions for the wedding guests (will they be muting themselves or do they have the option on commenting and talking while the ceremony is ongoing?), and all other helpful details for those who will be using the platform for the very first time.

Bonus tip: Pamper yourself!

Since you will most likely do your own makeup and hair, make it as incredible of an event as possible! You can start with whatever it is that you need in feeling both relaxed and rejuvenated on the day of your wedding as well as the night before.

Google how you can DIY spa treatment. We bet you would like to enjoy a long soak in your tub then follow it with some luxurious facemasks and body oils. If you and your spouse are both relaxed, you will both feel and look radiant! You can also paint your nails the night before your virtual wedding as you watch Netflix. What is important is you find that calm space in celebrating your union with your soon-to-be husband or wife.
