Muslim expatriates who wish to get married in the UAE must meet the following requirements:
Non-Muslim expatriates are able to get married at the embassies or consulates of their home countries.
They may also get married at any place of worship such as a church or temple and then subsequently have the marriage registered at their embassy or consulate as mentioned above

It is further important to note that if an expatriate couple getting married in the UAE belong to different nationalities, the marriage must be registered with both countries’ embassies.
Under a new law – Federal Law No. 41 of 2022 – that came into effect on February 1, 2023 the non-Muslim couples in the Emirate can now apply for a civil marriage contract, allowing them to have a civil ceremony. This law enables couples to obtain their civil wedding license within 24 to 48 hours of application.
Previously, non-Muslim couples could only get married in a religious ceremony or at their home country’s embassy or consulate. However, with the introduction of this new personal status law, non-Muslim couples can formalize their marriage as a civil contract. To qualify for a civil marriage in Dubai, non-Muslim couples must fulfill the following legal conditions:
UAE Nationals, irrespective of whether they are male or female, who are members of Armed Forces or employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Police and wish to marry expatriates must first obtain special permission from their employers.
